TRUST · NO CORE PAYWALL

The capabilities that decide whether a family keeps a benefit are free, forever.

A specific, binding enumeration of the capabilities the company will not put behind a paywall. Ever.

VERSION 1.0 · RATIFIED 2026-05-18

A "freemium" gated business model is the standard pattern for consumer SaaS, and the standard pattern fails this audience. A missed payment, a missed recert deadline, a paywalled document on the day someone needs proof of address for a housing intake — these are not customer-acquisition opportunities. They are people losing essential supports. The pledge below is the binding commitment that those moments will never carry a price tag.

The pledge

Zion commits, by Charter and by Trust, that the following capabilities will be free for the member, forever, with no per-action fees, per-document fees, per-grant fees, throttling, or feature deprecation:

  • Records ownership. Storage, retrieval, edit, delete, and export of every record the member uploads or that is uploaded on the member’s behalf.
  • Consent grants. Issuing, viewing, modifying, and revoking consent grants — including audit trails.
  • Eligibility screening. Screening for the public benefit programs the household is plausibly eligible for, with consent.
  • Recertification reminders. Expiry-aware reminders for benefits, documents, certifications.
  • Cliff Planner. Modeling how income, household, or program changes move the family across benefit cliffs — before the cliff hits.
  • Warm referrals. Receiving a warm referral when one partner can’t help and another can.
  • Care continuity. Clinical handoffs, referral receipts, immunization records, and care-plan continuity between organizations.
  • Accessibility. Every capability above, in English and Spanish, at WCAG 2.2 AA or better, on the device the member already owns.

What may be priced

The company may offer paid surfaces to organizations — billing reconciliation, grant-reporting exports, large multi-site admin tooling, and the like. The company may offer paid surfaces to creators inside Oasis — discovery boosts, scheduling integrations, the standard creator-economy stack. The company may collect a commission on Oasis transactions (5–10% band). None of those revenue surfaces may be used to gate, throttle, or condition any capability enumerated above for the member.

Enforcement

Any Charter-bound capability the company appears to be gating, throttling, or conditioning is reportable to the Trust Advisory Board through a public channel. The TAB’s findings are public. The pledge can be amended only through the Charter amendment process (two-thirds board, TAB ratification, 30-day public comment).
