Community Guidelines
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Zion's OutPosts is a community-first space for neighbors to connect, share, help one another, and build real local connection. These Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed. They apply to everything you do in the app: Posts, comments, direct messages, Shouts, polls, OutPost pages, profiles, Community Notes, and any other content or behavior.
By using OutPosts you agree to follow these Guidelines. Breaking them can lead to content being hidden or removed, warnings, feature restrictions, suspension, or a permanent ban. Serious or illegal activity may also be reported to law enforcement.
The basics
- Treat people the way you would want to be treated.
- Keep it legal. If it is against the law offline, it is not allowed here.
- Be honest about who you are and what you share.
- Respect other people's privacy, property, and safety.
- Keep the community welcoming to people of all backgrounds.
We do not allow
Harassment and bullying
- Targeted insults, threats, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Encouraging others to harass someone.
- Sharing content meant to humiliate, intimidate, or degrade a person.
Hate and discrimination
- Attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Promoting hateful ideologies or hate groups.
Violence and dangerous activity
- Threats of violence, or content that incites or glorifies violence.
- Promoting self-harm, suicide, or dangerous challenges.
- Coordinating or promoting criminal activity.
Exploitation and child safety
- Any sexual content involving minors. This is never tolerated and will be reported to the authorities.
- Content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits children.
- Human trafficking or exploitation of any person.
Sexual and adult content
- Pornography or sexually explicit material.
- Unsolicited sexual content or advances, including in direct messages.
Privacy violations
- Sharing someone's private information without consent (for example a home address, phone number, financial details, or government ID). This includes doxxing.
- Posting images or recordings of people in private settings without their permission.
Spam, scams, and deception
- Repetitive, unwanted, or automated posting.
- Scams, fraud, phishing, pyramid or "get rich quick" schemes.
- Impersonating another person, business, or organization, or running fake accounts.
- Manipulating likes, follows, reposts, polls, or Community Notes.
Misinformation that causes harm
- False or misleading content that could cause real-world harm to health, safety, or civic processes.
- Community Notes exist to add helpful, sourced context. Do not abuse them to spread falsehoods or attack others.
Illegal and regulated goods
- Buying, selling, or trading prohibited items through Shouts. See the Prohibited Items policy for details.
Shouts marketplace
Shouts is a community marketplace for requests, offers, barter, and sales between neighbors. When you use Shouts:
- Be accurate and honest in your listings and messages.
- Only offer items and services you are legally allowed to provide.
- Follow the Prohibited Items policy.
- Arrange exchanges safely. Zion PBC is not a party to transactions between members and does not process payments, guarantee items, or mediate disputes. Use good judgment and meet in safe, public places.
OutPosts and location
OutPosts are physical community locations shown on the map. When posting about an OutPost or sharing location-based content, be accurate and respectful of the people and places involved. Do not use location features to track, stalk, or harass anyone.
Random Acts of Kindness
Acts of kindness are meant to build community. Do not use them to deceive, solicit, scam, or pressure others.
Verification and badges
Verification badges help the community trust who they are interacting with. Do not misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or status to obtain a badge, and do not imitate verified members or partners.
Reporting and moderation
If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, report it. Every kind of content in OutPosts can be reported from inside the app — posts, polls, comments, Shouts, OutPost pages, profiles, direct messages, and live streams (both a stream itself and messages in its chat). Reports go to moderators — platform moderators for Zion PBC and, for OutPost-specific spaces, the OutPost's host or assigned moderators.
We review reports and take action within 24 hours. Content that breaks these Guidelines is removed, and members who post it may be warned, restricted, suspended, or banned. Serious cases (such as threats or child safety) are prioritized.
You are also in control of what you see:
- Block any member from their profile or from any report screen. You will no longer see each other's content, and they cannot message you.
- Mute words in your settings to hide content containing them from your feed, comments, Shouts, messages, and live chat.
Moderators may take actions including warning a member, hiding or removing content, restricting features, suspending an account, or banning a member. We aim to be fair and consistent. Moderation records are kept for safety and accountability.
If you believe a moderation decision was a mistake, you can contact us at the address below to ask for a review.
Changes
We may update these Guidelines as the community grows. When we make material changes, we will ask you to review and accept the current version before continuing to use OutPosts.
